AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF STATE HIGHWAY OFFICIALS
638-639 MUNSEY BUILDING
WASHINGTON, D. C.
August 10, 1926
Mr. Cyrus S. Avery,
Chairman, State Highway Department,
Dear Mr. Avery:
I am submitting herewith three ballots concerning routes strictly interstate.
The State Highway Department of Oklahoma, throught its Chairman, asks that No. 75 be extended south from Henryetta to Atoka. This enables Route 75 to connect with 73, and furnishes a more satisfactory terminus to this route in Oklahoma. Construction is now going forward.
Some weeks since certain ballots were held up at the request of Mr. Neel of Georgia. These changes requested by Kentucky, involved a shifting of numbers on several routes in other States, including Georgia, and resulted in a change in continuity of several long distance routes. I find, however, that the Kentucky ballt herewith enclosed concerned only an intrastate road, which should not be held up for the above reason, and it is therefore now being submitted to you for your vote.
The enclosed ballot from Georgia, submitted by Mr. Neel, requests a change and an addition in order that through route No. 78 may go via Stone Mountain, where a memorial of national interest is now under construction.
Your prompt return of these ballots will be appreciated in the preparation of the map.
