| Abstract | Designing sustainable structures in North America has emerged as a mainstream priority for architects. This visible change has increased as energy, water, and building material costs have escalated and the tolerance for poor building environments has decreased. The rise in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified buildings in North America also indicates that the priority of sustainable buildings has gained momentum from the mainstream business and public sector of our civilizations. |
