| About the Farm | James and Joann Pickett are owners of two farms designated as Oklahoma Centennial Farms, the Pickett Farms, and the Picketts Dairy Farm. Both farms are in Lincoln County, near Carney, Oklahoma. The Pickett Farms came to be in the Pickett family in two parts. Louis F. Pickett, Jamess grandfather, purchased the first 80 acres in 1901 and the second 80 acres in 1906. After the deaths of Louis and Bertha Pickett, the land passed to Oliver and Ruth Pickett, Jamess parents and in 1986, Ruth deeded all but 15 acres to James and Joann Pickett. Loose hay, feed grain, and cotton were original crops and now farm products include alfalfa, Bermuda grass for hay, small grains, and beef cattle. |
