| Description | Laura Boyd was interviewed December 20, 2006 as part of the Women of the Oklahoma Legislature Oral History Project. Mrs. Boyd was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1992 and served through 1998. She represented House District 44 and was a member of the Democratic Party. She was also the Democratic nominee for Governor in 1998 and the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor in 2004. She discusses how she entered the political arena, various campaigns, being a woman legislator, and efforts to pass the Ryan Luke law in 1996. |
