March 31, 1958
Mr. H. W. Heath
Lock Joint Pipe Company
P. O. Box 269
East Orange, New Jersey
Your letter of March 11 reference to my retiring from the Lock Joint Pipe Company, affective date July 1, 1958, is agreeable to me.
It has been a great pleasure to have been associated with you in the Lock Joint Company. I think you can feel justified in having promoted the two plants in Oklahoma. The Lock Joint Pipe Company is thoroughly established in this state.
My employment with the company gave me an opportunity to renew my acquaintance with the contractors and engineers that I have dealth with for many years.
I am not giving publicity to my retirement here or in Oklahoma City. I know some of our competitors will be pleased to know I am not representing the Company, however, I should like to suggest I shall be glad to remain subject to call whenever I can be of service.
My association with you and Mr. Allen will be held as a pleasant memory in my career. I have been fortunate in having many good friends, and I count you as one of them.
It is a long time since I started boosting the Lock Joint Pipe Company back in 1922. I really am one of the oldest representatives of the company -- quite a while before the company put me on the payroll and I shall continue being a booster, and during all this time the experience has been a pleasnt one to me.
I shall miss you all.
Cyrus S. Avery
